Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson has added being an author to his list of accomplishments.

His motivational, faith-based book "Pass It On" is available for sale Tuesday via Amazon, book stores, newsstands and other outlets.

The Pro Bowl quarterback is an avid reader who launched a summer youth reading program challenge in Houston.

On the cover, the book says: "Work hard, serve others ... repeat."

The book discusses how Watson, who grew up in public housing in Gainesville, Ga. and was 11 years old when his family received a new home from Atlanta Falcons running back Warrick Dunn, gained a perspective on giving back at an early age.

"I'm very excited about my book," said Watson, who thanked his mom, Deann Watson, co-author LaVaille Lavette, publisher Harper Collins, agent David Mulugheta, business manager Bryan Burney, private quarterbacks coach Quincy Avery and Clemson coach Dabo Swinney. "It’s definitely an opportunity to tell my testimony, tell my family’s story and just the things I’ve learned over the past 24, 25 years of my life and just be able to touch other people. I know my idea of what I want to do as a child is to use this platform as I continue to grow but not just be nationally and local but also be global for people across the world. For me to be able to expand that, not everyone watches football so I want to be more than just a football player.

"I want to be able to touch people from all over the world in different areas of business. For me to be able to write a book and have this book out in airports and bookstores and just all over the place. It’s definitely a good-looking picture on the front. You can always keep it on your coffee tables and stuff like that. It’s definitely cool. That was my lifetime goal, and I had some people that helped me out to organize it and it came out very, very well."

Now Playing:

Watson has other plans ahead, including his association with the German soccer team FC Bayern Munich, and movies. He's an executive producer of a movie called National Champion that's similar to his experiences at Clemson, where he defeated Alabama in the BCS national title game. He's also doing a documentary.

"There’s been some requests of me doing, you’ve seen the ‘He Got Game’ with Ray Allen, doing a football version of that," Watson said. "Those are some things down the line, down the future that have came, popped up. It’s good to have it in the future. Those people are definitely great with my time. They understand that football comes first and that’s what matters and then whenever I have time to spend my time, that’s what we focus on.”

Watson emphasized that he's maintaining his focus on football. Watson recently signed a four-year, $156 million contract extension.

"We’re doing it all, but, at the same time, making sure that my career and my main focus is being the quarterback of the Houston Texans and doing whatever I can to be able to win games and continue to have that path come," Watson said. "I feel like with the team I have, with my mindset understanding what’s the main priorities and what comes first is football.

"I feel like I can do a lot of things. Being able to be so young and have the, I guess, the character, the knowledge, to continue to grow and learn but also touch different areas, is awesome.”

Watson is also interested in exploring his passion for fashion.

"Definitely fashion, is on the way," Watson said. "You know I got to keep Nike on deck, though. I’m Nike. I’m Nike head to toe but I switch it up here and there.

"Fashion is definitely going to continue to grow. Especially now with a little more money in the bank being able to try to go to Paris, London. Different things. Milan, Italy. We’ve got some things cooking in the future.”
