BRUNSWICK, Ohio -- It was an “aha” moment that gave Annette Palmer the chance to add “published author” to her long list of accomplishments.

The longtime Brunswick resident is well known as a full-time private music teacher, with emphasis on singing and piano. As a voice major at the University of Southern California, she brought on-stage experience to the Brunswick community when she and her husband, Bob Palmer, moved here in 1980. They have been married 43 years and have a son, CJ.

Palmer also is very involved in Brunswick Reformed Church as a Sunday school teacher and musician. She is one of the founders of the local chapter of Toastmasters, and she mentors youngsters who want to learn about public speaking.

It was a train trip to the Klondike and an Alaskan cruise (for Bob’s parents 50th wedding anniversary) that sparked the idea that became her first book.

“I had a stunning serendipity one season that led to a richer form of knowing God. It occurred when I discovered that He was most likely speaking through what He has made -- what was all around us -- nature,” Palmer said.

In “TREES... God’s HINT to Humanity?” published by WestBow Press, she theorizes about the reason why trees are all around us. She hopes to connect readers with God in a newer and richer way every time they simply look outside.

She invites readers to explore the landscape from a train window; to reminisce about their past Christmases, their last walk in the woods, their last drive down the freeway; and to fill their thoughts with how amazing nature is and connect with God like never before through the largest living creatures on earth -- trees.

Palmer said she also prays that those who are believers will use this book to evangelize and strengthen their own faith.

“I’m writing this book to share a completely different growth. It’s one that leads to an awesome connection -- a connection with God through, believe it or not, trees! I believe trees, are the biggest hint from God to humanity, and a most powerful invitation to know Him.”

“TREES... God’s HINT to Humanity?” is available at all the online book sellers. If you order through the publisher, westbowpress.com/en, shipping is free. Books are $28.95 for hardcover, $11.95 for soft.

She said she hopes to have a book signing someday, when it is safe to do so.
