(KNSI) – The St. Cloud Rox Project S.A.V.E. Foundation has donated $5,000 to a program that supports children with disabilities in Central Minnesota.
The grant was awarded at Thursday night’s Rox home game.
ARISE (A Recreational Inclusion Support Endeavor) helps children with disabilities participate in recreational programs alongside their peers.
The program works with the St. Cloud Area Family Y.M.C.A., North Crest Kids Activity Center, Great River Educational Arts Theatre, Boys Scouts of America Central MN Council, Girl Scouts Lakes and Pines, and Boys & Girls Club of Central MN, to name a few.
The Rox Project S.A.V.E. Foundation donation will help increase staff members and give even more children a chance to benefit from the program.
ARISE is under the supervision of the St. Cloud Area School District 742 Community Education department and works with many school districts for opportunities with children to participate in after-school activities.
The program serves 65-70 children with disabilities a year and doesn’t charge for its services.
ARISE has been operating in the St. Cloud area for 30 years.
It’s the 8th overall grant presented by Project S.A.V.E. since the Foundation was launched in 2019.
In conjunction with its founding Partners at Marco, Wells Concrete, C.L.A., and BankVista, the Foundation has raised over $100,000 in funding support for Project S.A.V.E.
