Trinidad author Glory Ralston has released a second edition of her first published book, “Some Things Are Obvious.”
This book has been out of print for several years, ever since the original publishing house went out of business. When asked what motivated her to get this story out in print again, Ralston said that many of her readers have been asking where they could find a copy of this book.
“The only way for them to get a copy was to buy it used off the internet or for me to get busy and get it republished,” she said.
She thought this would be easy since she still had the original manuscript, but it wasn’t.
“Nothing about bringing a book to print is easy,” Ralston said. “And, of course, I had to redo it. We authors, given a chance, believe we can always make a story better. That’s the nature of being a writer, I guess. There’s always a better way to say something.”
It took Ralston over a year to get this story ready for print.
“It’s the same story as before,” she said, “with the same characters and same message. I think it’s written better now, though, and the cover is how I had hoped it would be, using a photograph I took right here in Humboldt County where the story takes place.”
“Some Things Are Obvious” is available at Blake’s Books in McKinleyville, Northtown Books in Arcata and in Murphy’s Market in Trinidad. It is also available through AmazonBooks.
