FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. – A woman nearly drowned at Bowditch Point Park over the weekend, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman was underwater for 3-4 minutes before getting CPR from an off-duty park ranger, deputies reported.
Multiple witnesses said the woman swam into the current because a 1 year old was was drifting away in a floatie.
Another witness saved the child, according to officials.
Deputies said the woman is expected to recover.
