Crain's annual Book of Lists has been an indispensible annual resource for metro Detroit businesspeople ever since the first edition rolled off the presses in 1985.
With this year's edition, we've taken steps to make it even more useful.
The first is the size of this year's "Book." It's smaller than our weekly newspaper and designed to take up less space on your desk, while still offering up the data that you find indispensible.
It also has a broader scope. We've added sections that catalog people, such as our annual 40 Under 40 award winners, in addition to a Year in Review section that looks back on 2020 — a year we'll remember when other years blur together. With those additions, we thought "Book of Lists" was too confining a name, and have simplified it to "The Book."
