With 500 action ideas that are fun and simple, like making crystallized rock candy or writing in secret code, genuine curiosity blows away the thought that there’s nothing to do.
Hands-on projects, from farming to painting, guarantee a boy or girl will find something of interest within the 384 pages.
There’s a red ribbon bookmark sewn into the thick, hardcover book, but don’t expect kids to move orderly from front to back. In fact, it was designed for them to jump around, flip pages (there’s even instructions on how to make a moving-picture flip book).

Most of what’s needed to try something new are common household items. Shake uncooked rice in a paper lunch bag to mimic the sound of rain. Or put on a show; it starts with a laundry basket filled with costumes.
