Story Strong: Community Book Club

Monday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m.

The Story Strong group discussion is designed to help empower individuals and families as they navigate the uncertainties presented by economic insecurity. Each month will include a session for adults and another for the whole family. The featured Community Book Club title for September is "A Girl is a Body of Water" by Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi. Story Strong is a collaboration between the University of South Florida School of Information's Responsive Librarianship Group and the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library. Parents/caregivers and kids will enjoy interactive and lively on-line discussions about books while engaging with members of the community to discover resources for critical help and support. This project was funded under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Positive Coaching for Families

Monday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m.

Huddle up and get ready for life lessons from the world of sports. Through stories and strategies from those who have played the game, this experience will cover how to raise the score when faced with setbacks, mistakes, and other challenges. For all ages. Presented by The Positive Coaching Alliance and Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation. This session is a part of the Libraries Build Communities initiative - a collaboration between the University of South Florida School of Information's Responsive Librarianship Group and the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library.
