We all we got!

The community has come together to set up a GoFundMe to help save an 82-year-old Inglewood woman from losing her home of more than 30 years, KTLA reports.

Marie Riggins moved into her dream home with her late husband in 1986. The corner lot home in Carleton Squares gated community located in Inglewood, California, is where Riggins and her husband built their life and three decades worth of memories. The last 10 years have been a whirlwind; losing her husband to pancreatic cancer, being forced to file bankruptcy, and now dealing with a potential home foreclosure has taken a toll. Now, Riggins is looking for a miracle to help turn things around.

It all started in 2017 when Riggins began to fall behind on her homeowner association fees. Her home, which now sits across from the new $5 billion SoFi stadium, is valued at nearly $1 million. Riggins said she feels like she’s being forced out since the HOA is claiming that Riggins owes $38,000.

“There’s no way in the world that I would owe $38,000. That meant I never paid my property dues...My blood, sweat, and tears are in this house. This is my home. This is where I’m going to stay,” she told reporters.

Riggins has never stopped working, still serving in bookkeeping, day in and day out. Despite her job, she’s on a fixed income, and there’s no way she can pay what they’re claiming she owes. The home is currently in foreclosure, and she’s set to be put out in less than a month.

“I’m not going to stand around here and let them take the home that I worked hard for...I have spent too much money to just say, ‘Ok here, take it.’...And there’s no way in the world I can get out of here in a month. Where am I supposed to go,” Riggins said.

She has currently retained legal representation to help her fight the lockout. Her lawyers, along with the help of the community, set up a GoFundMe in support of her, raising more than $23,000 in just over a week. Proceeds will go towards whatever Riggins needs depending on how the situation plays out. They are hoping to save her home by purchasing it and willing to help her relocate if need be.

Riggins says she has no plans on leaving and plans to spend the rest of her life in the home she shared with her husband.

“I’m trying to pay them to get my title back because I don’t plan to move from here. My husband died here. It makes me sick. I said they’re going to have to kill me. It’s that bad,” she shared.
