FREEPORT (WREX) -- Throughout the month of March, the Freeport Public Library will host a series of movies and conversations about books through its project One Book One Freeport.
The first discussion is set for March 9 via zoom. Jim Winkler presents "The Era of Good Feelings."
The library holds the project every other year, and aims to have important conversations between people and engage the community of Freeport.
"This brings people together and gives them something to talk about," said Dianne Ludwig, Freeport Public Library's Adult Services Manager. "And we're trying to continue the discussion that continued last year and gone into this year with Black Lives Matter."
Other discussions and books revolve around Harriet Tubman and the Underground Railroad. The library is also giving away free copies of The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead.
